Job Summary
We’re looking for a Director level Product Management Executive to lead the Content Services portfolio for Avail-TVN. This role, will work across functional boundaries to define the strategy, develop the business plan, and launch solutions targeting Content Owners.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Senior level experience in Product Management & Product Marketing
- Working knowledge of Video On Demand (VOD) technologies, ecosystem and business models.
- Direct work experience at Multichannel Service Provider (MSO, IPTV, Satellite provider), Content Owner and/or for a vendor who sells into this market.
- Working knowledge of trends, technologies and workflows associated with:
- Content Preparation, Management and Distribution
- Multi Screen Video Delivery - Cable, IPTV, Broadband and Mobile.
- Measurement/reporting companies (Nielsen, Rentrak, CIMM, etc.), vendor ecosystems (BlackArrow, Seachange, etc.), emerging industry standards (SCTE, CableLabs), industry initiatives (Canoe), and business realities of traditional and dynamic advertising.
- Experience in conceiving, building and launching services in a rapidly changing market landscape – Strategic Market Development
- Success assisting/managing projects/programs through effective communication, collaboration, shared goals, and trust.
- Track record of managing projects/programs of real or virtual teams while providing oversight of geographically dispersed projects/programs is essential.
- Demonstrated strengths in communications, risk management, conflict resolution skills working in a team environment and mentoring team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Overall development, launch and ongoing management of Avail-TVN’s portfolio of Content Services including; ingest preparation, encoding, distribution and advanced services such as analytics and advertising.
- Market analysis, competitive analysis, product strategy and multi-year product/services road map for content services.
- Participate with the sales organization in client visits, on and off-site, to understand market requirements.
- Lead the development of business plans, forecasting, pricing and positioning of content offerings
- Contribute to the development of annual and quarterly financial plans including details on strategy, operations, forecasting, pricing, resource management and budget for content services.
- Work along side the engineering team to set development priorities, define and implement a product road map, contribute to testing, and manage new products/services through initial launch and subsequent releases.
- Partner with marketing to develop product collateral such as technical white papers, presentations, sales tools, and competitive analysis.
- Create and deliver sales training for the direct sales force, channels and support teams.
- Regularly monitor the performance and trends of content products and report them to the management team.
- Insightful understanding of the marketplace and competitors
Your Qualifications
- 8+years of experience in product management, program management or product development in a fast paced software environment.
- Experience in deploying, leveraging or marketing Video based technology is strongly desired.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High degree of technical expertise and business acumen.
- Highly self-motivated, proactive, and self-sufficient.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent field or significant experience with technical software development required.
- Master's Degree desired but not required
- Willing to travel approximately 35%
